Motherboard
Motherboard is a sequence based in a world I developed while taking Stephanie Stine’s Story Development class. I always loved sci-fi stories dealing with being alone in the vastness of a post-apocalyptic world. I imagined a story where the daughter of a scientist is hellbent on reviving her mother via imprinting her memories onto a machine. This scene would take place early on in said story.
The Legend of Korra Fan Animatic
This is a pretty short and simple scene that I boarded using characters from The Legend of Korra to practice anime-style action scenes!
Oink
Back in college, I drew some doodles of a young witch who grew up in the countryside. She wore a straw hat, overalls, and had a pig instead of a cat. This character felt so charming to me that I later felt inspired to storyboard a sequence based on her!
Secrets of the Crypt
I storyboarded this sequence as part of Stephanie Stine’s Story Development class. I love dark fantasy tropes, as well as pairing timid characters with more assertive ones. So this is a fusion of those interests!
The Legend of Felix
This sequence was boarded as part of Tron Mai’s Story Development class. I’m obsessed with Mouse Guard, so this sequence was inspired by that world. I also love stories where the characters’ own actions cause a domino effect of worse and worse situations. I wanted to push how far I could go with that idea with this sequence.
Bud
Bud was a show I pitched about the son of a superhero who really didn’t want to follow in his father’s footsteps. But because he inherited his dad’s powers, everyone expects him to. This is a small sequence I boarded to show off some of the character dynamics and overall tone.
